This policy outlines our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all business relationships and to implementing effective systems and controls to minimise the risk of modern slavery occurring within our organisation or supply chain.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all persons working for or on behalf of Green 4 Motor Company in any capacity, including:

  • Employees
  • Directors
  • Temporary and agency workers
  • Contractors
  • Consultants
  • Apprentices
  • Suppliers
  • Third-party representatives

3. Definitions

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It includes:

  • Slavery
  • Servitude
  • Forced or compulsory labour
  • Child labour
  • Human trafficking
  • Exploitation of workers

Human trafficking involves arranging or facilitating the travel of another person with a view to exploitation.

5. Responsibilities

Management is responsible for:

  • Ensuring this policy complies with current legislation
  • Reviewing the policy annually
  • Monitoring potential modern slavery risks
  • Ensuring appropriate employee awareness and training

All employees are responsible for:

  • Remaining alert to signs of modern slavery
  • Reporting concerns promptly
  • Avoiding any activity that could breach this policy

6. Recruitment and Employment Practices

Green 4 Motor Company is committed to fair and lawful recruitment practices.

We will:

  • Verify employees’ right to work in the UK
  • Ensure all employment is freely chosen
  • Never retain original personal documents such as passports
  • Pay employees at least the National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage
  • Provide clear employment contracts and pay information
  • Ensure employees are free to leave employment subject to contractual notice periods
  • Not charge recruitment fees to workers

We expect recruitment agencies and labour providers to operate ethically and in compliance with employment legislation.

7. Supply Chain and Due Diligence

We expect all suppliers, contractors, and business partners to uphold standards consistent with this policy.

Where appropriate, Green 4 Motor Company may:

  • Assess supplier risk
  • Review supplier policies and practices
  • Request confirmation of compliance with modern slavery legislation
  • Terminate relationships where serious breaches are identified

8. Training and Awareness

Relevant employees will receive appropriate awareness training on:

9. Reporting Concerns

Any employee who suspects modern slavery, human trafficking, or unethical labour practices must report concerns immediately through management or via the company Whistleblowing Policy.

Reports will be treated seriously and, where possible, confidentially.

No employee will suffer detrimental treatment for raising genuine concerns in good faith.

10. Breaches of This Policy

Any employee found to have breached this policy may face disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal.

Green 4 Motor Company may terminate relationships with suppliers, contractors, or other organisations acting on its behalf if they fail to comply with this policy.

11. External Reporting and Support

In an emergency or where there is immediate danger, concerns should be reported to the police by dialling 999.
