Guide to the Mazda2

Engine and Transmission

All 2023 Mazda2 specifications come with a 1.5L e-SKYACTIV G Petrol engine, but there are 3 different power outputs to choose from. Exclusively for the Centre-Line is 75ps Manual but many choose the 90ps Manual for a bit more power. For the Exclusive-Line spec, the 90ps engine is available with either manual or automatic transmission, unlike the Homura, which is only available as a Manual with this powertrain. Exclusive to the range-topping Homura Aka specification is the 115ps manual option. The 90ps or 115ps manual transmissions are assisted by mild hybrid technology, with a 24 Volt battery helping to improve fuel economy and reduce emissions.
