The third-generation Mazda CX-5 is due in Summer 2026. You can now pre-order or reserve a model, with official launch offers expected closer to launch.
UK CX-5 models launch with a 2.5L e-Skyactiv G petrol engine paired to a 24V M Hybrid mild-hybrid system. This produces 141PS and 238Nm, with front-wheel drive as standard. The updated 2.5L engine replaces the previous 2.0L unit for improved smoothness, efficiency and low-RPM torque.
At launch, the new CX-5 will be petrol mild-hybrid only. Mazda has not currently announced any plug-in hybrid or diesel variant, with PHEV options instead covered within the CX-60 and CX-80 range.
The front-wheel drive 2.5L M Hybrid CX-5 achieves 0-62 mph in around 10.5 seconds. WLTP fuel economy is approximately 40.4 MPG for FWD models, reducing slightly to around 38.2 MPG for AWD versions.
The 2026 CX-5 features a redesigned cabin with 12.9-inch or 15.6-inch central displays with Google built-in, plus a 10.25-inch digital driver display. Higher trims add premium features including a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, Bose® audio system and ambient lighting on Homura models.
The new CX-5 is highly practical for family use, with boot space increased by 61 litres to 583 litres. With the rear seats folded, capacity expands to up to 2,019 litres. Wide-opening rear doors and a 40:20:40 split-folding rear bench further improve versatility.
The Mazda CX-5 offers a braked towing capacity of up to 2,000 kg, making it suitable for caravans, trailers and leisure towing.
UK trim levels include Prime-Line, Centre-Line, Exclusive-Line and Homura. Standard equipment includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, climate control and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Higher trims add heated seats, heated steering wheel, leather upholstery and a sunroof.

The CX-5 is primarily designed for on-road comfort and refinement, with front-wheel drive as standard and All Wheel Drive available on selected models. Its raised ride height and traction systems support light off-road use, but it is not intended as a hardcore off-roader.
