The Mazda MX-5 is available with two naturally aspirated petrol engines - a 1.5-litre Skyactiv-G producing 132PS and a 2.0-litre Skyactiv-G producing 184PS. Both engines drive the rear wheels and are paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox for a traditional sports car driving experience.
Performance varies depending on engine and body style. The quickest Mazda MX-5 is the 2.0-litre Roadster soft-top, capable of 0-60 mph in around 6.5 seconds, while the RF hard-top version completes the same sprint in approximately 6.8 seconds. The 1.5-litre versions achieve around 8.3 seconds for the Roadster and 8.7 seconds for the RF. Top speed reaches approximately 135 mph for the 2.0-litre engine.

The Mazda MX-5 is available in two body styles - the traditional soft-top convertible known as the Roadster, and the RF model, which stands for Retractable Fastback and features an electrically folding hard-top roof.
The Mazda MX-5 offers approximately 130 litres of boot space in Roadster form, while the RF provides around 127 litres due to space taken by the retractable hard-top mechanism. While compact, the boot is suitable for smaller luggage and weekend trips.
