Driving 100 miles for World EV Day in the Mazda MX-30​

For World EV Day 2023, some of the Green 4 team took part in a 100 mile EnviroDrive in the Mazda MX-30 from the Gridserve Charging Station in Braintree to the Gridserve Charging Station in Norwich. We wanted to educate ourselves and our customers on how easy it is to travel with an Electric Vehicle and break some of the stigma around owning an EV - all whilst competing against other EV drivers to complete the route the most fuel efficiently and in the most environmentally conscious way.

The journey started off early on a Saturday morning, this is where the team first got to meet the others involved in the EnviroDrive, as well as take a look around the Gridserve Charging Station for the first time. With over 50 chargers on site, Gridserve is the EV equivalent of a service station, equipped with a coffee shop, post office and seating areas so drivers can recharge their vehicle whilst relaxing. The MX-30 was charged on a fast 350kW charger within 40 minutes so after a quick refreshment and an explore of one of Europe's first dedicated EV charging stations, we were ready to set out on the 100 mile journey.

For every mile we travelled, we also wanted to raise £1 to donate to the Just One Tree charity, who will plant a tree for every £1 raised. Green 4 Motor Company will then match all the money raised, potentially raising £200 to fund the planting of 200 new trees!
