The all-new Mazda6e has officially been crowned World Car Design of the Year 2026, marking another major milestone for Mazda’s globally acclaimed design philosophy.
Announced at the New York International Auto Show, the award recognises the very best in automotive design, judged by a panel of 98 international automotive journalists from 33 countries.
This latest win represents Mazda’s third World Car Design title and its fifth World Car Award overall, further cementing the brand’s reputation for creating beautifully crafted, emotionally engaging vehicles.
At Green 4 Motor Company, this award feels even more special.
We recently had the opportunity to host the Mazda6e press car at our dealership, giving our team an early look at what is now officially the world’s best-designed car.
The verdict? It completely lived up to the recognition.
From its flowing exterior lines to its calm, premium interior, the Mazda6e stands out as something genuinely different - a modern electric vehicle that still feels deeply connected to traditional craftsmanship.
Mazda’s Kodo design philosophy continues to evolve, and the Mazda6e is its most refined expression yet.
Yoshito Iwauchi, Chief Designer at Mazda Motor Corporation, commented:
“We are deeply honoured to receive this award for a classic sedan. We believe that the sculptural beauty created by human hands and precision craftsmanship unique to Kodo Design has strengthened the connection between people and cars, even in the era of electrification.”
It’s this balance of innovation and human touch that sets the Mazda6e apart in an increasingly digital automotive world.
The award-winning Mazda6e is set to arrive in the UK this summer, and we are incredibly excited to welcome it into our showrooms.
